Wyoming Democrats Rebuke Barrasso, Lummis, and Hageman on Medicare and Medicaid’s 60th Anniversary
Cheyenne – On the 60th anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid, Wyoming Democratic Party released the following statement:
For 60 years, Medicare and Medicaid have been a lifeline for Wyomingites — mothers and babies, seniors, people with disabilities and chronic illness, caregivers, and families just barely getting by. These programs are the only thing standing between many of our neighbors and total medical and financial catastrophe.
“It is a disgrace and a deep betrayal that Senator Barrasso, Senator Lummis, and Representative Hageman take advantage of taxpayer-funded healthcare for life while ripping coverage away from the citizens of Wyoming. Once again, they are not working for us, they are working for their special interest friends,” said Chair Lucas Fralick
Donald Trump’s Big Ugly Bill will create a healthcare crisis for over 20,000 Wyomingites just to hand out more tax breaks to billionaires. On this anniversary, Wyoming Democrats reaffirm our belief that healthcare is a human right, not a luxury for the wealthy, and our commitment to fight tooth and nail against Republicans’ heinous attacks until everyone has the coverage they deserve.
